Clair’s Falls

Saint clairs falls is known as piyaeli rejina (queen of the water falls) and it is the widest waterfall in Sri Lanka. The 80 meters high fall is situated close to Dimbulla junction on the Hatton Thalawaqkake high way. It has got the name from the tea state through which it meanders to the point of the falls. Planters called it the “Bride” in veil it is also known as the small Niagara due to its resemblance with the word renowned Niagara Falls in the US. The cascade falls as two separate Sheets of water the first is 240.9 feet wide and the second 139 feet wide. The sours of the falls are Kothmale oya a tributary.

Aberdeen Ella

Aberdeen Ella is one of the most famous waterfalls in Sri Lanka. Aberdeen falls originates from the Kehelgomu oya and is located on the Aberdeen Estate. The British who once ruled Sri Lanka named this estate after a famous city in Britain and because this waterfall located on this estate it was given the name Aberdeen falls. Before the Lakshapana power plant was built Lakshapana fall and the Aberdeen water falls met on Aberdeen estate and fro wed as one body of water. But since the Lakshapana power plants was constructed Aberdeen waterfalls makes its journey.
